Can anybody tell me some Pros and Cons about being a dentist?

answers 0:Once again it's for my dental project. Reply ASAP and thanks for reading it!answers 1:you get to smell the smelliest breath ever! on the brighter side, you give people pride to smile.. 🙂answers 2:I think a big con is that it's really hard to find a good assistant to work for you.answers 3:Cons: reportedly have a high suicide rate.*Carpal tunnel, neck and spine injuries due to positioning and repeated movements.*working in a small, dark, stinky hole all day(the mouth).answers 4:PROS:1) You earn a lot of money, which is never a bad thing;2) Children thank you with wonderful drawings (how sweet! I'd like to do it myself with my two dentists, but I'm too old);3) You make people happier by giving them a wonderful smile;4) There's nobody bossing around you all the time, because YOU are the boss. Nurses and assistants work for you, and you always t! ake the merit.CONS:1) You've got a lot of meetings to go to (how boring!);2) Sometimes patients are not so patient (excuse me for the pun), and you know, a nervous patient makes you work slower and worse;3) Some patients seem not to know what a tooth brush is.Of course mine is a funny tone, but I hope I've helped you....answers 5:well some patients may dread going to see you (i HATE the dentist!!) you have to look in ppls mouths (gross) you dont form many strong bonds with patients cos u dont talk 2 them (cos ur fiddling with their mouths) and ur workplace is soooo sterile and gross and it makes me feel ill just being there ummm ok pros.......large income i guess...answers 6:pros: your makin money, The dentist can concentrate on dentistry without the stress of managing a practice, A generous employee benefits package may be offered to the dentist, An immediate income is available and no initial capital outlay is required. cons: you have to look inside a persons mouth, you ! have to touch a persons mouth, There is a loss of autonomy, as! the dentist works as an employee. Income is more likely to be restricted or limited. The dentist is more likely to see a greater volume of patients, and may not have the time to develop strong patient relationships....answers 7:Cons: MANY long years of schooling where you are barely making ends meet. You will still be in school eating ramen noodles and driving an old beater while your friends are buying houses, cars, etc... It is eventually worth the sacrifice but it is not always easy to remember that when you are going through it. TONS of debt -- we're talking HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS just to get through school. Add several hundred thousand more to start a practice. Stress -- though we try our best not to let the patients see it, dentistry is a very stressful profession. Meeting the demands of patients, keeping employees happy, performing procedures where the difference between success and failure often depends on a half millimeter or less, it all adds up. ! Backaches and neckaches -- Dentistry is a lot more physically demanding than you would think.Rude patients -- 99% of my patients are friendly and polite. But it's hard to ignore that 1% who are never happy. First thing they say to you when they sit in the chair is "I hate dentists." Seriously, how sociopathic do you have to be to say that right to somebody's face. Is there anybody else out there who hears "I hate you" on a regular basis at their job? It really eats at you especially when you are just trying to help the person. But don't get the wrong idea, dentistry is a great career where the pros far outweigh the cons.Pros: Getting people out of pain -- it is a wonderful feeling to be able to do this for someone.Giving someone back their smile -- this can be a life changing event for some people and it's great to be a part of that.Grateful patients -- Homemade cookies, thank you letters, drawings from little kids. These kinds of things really make your day.Dentistry ! is always changing and it can be exciting keeping up with all the new p! rocedures, techniques and materials.Dentistry is a great field and I would highly recommend any young person with an interest to look into it....
