Marvella Benward: Not really a riddle. More geometric. A tripod is more stable, because according to the principles of Geometry, all three points always lay on the same plane.While four points do not necessarily lay on the same plane. If they do not, you get your wobble. Also the floor would come into play. If the floor is uneven, the tripod still hits all three.The table, when it wobbles to one side, actually becomes a tripod, of sorts, because only three legs are on the floor....Show more

Lu Tiner: i know why but it#s hard to explain.think of a tripod, the legs balance. if one leg is at a different angle the tripod will tilt but it wont wobble.a table w! ith four legs however, if one leg is shorter or at a different angle, the table will tilt but the leg on the opposite side will be off the ground so it can tilt either way so it wobbles.as i said hard to explainu either get it or u don't...Show more
