Elvin Mannheimer: If that is each way then yes, it is too long.If it is return then it is tolerable.
Toshia Metzker: I would say it's too long, especially considering that 1h50m is under ideal traffic conditions, and you would probably be going at rush hour. No matter how much you love cars, you're bound to get sick of sitting in traffic for 4+ hours (round-trip) every day.I'd suggest you stay in residence, and! just come home on the weekend--that can be your justification for getting a car. I think you'll be a lot happier being close to your classes, and living with other students. Hunter Beech: I would factor in how much you'd spend on gas vs the more expensive res price. I used to commute to SFSU and it was about an hour's commute time. I was okay with the commute, and felt comfortable at home, but I also felt like I missed out on a lot more social stuff that happened in the city. Ultimately it's up to you though, maybe commute for a bit, save up and live on residence later?
