Patrick Bitsui: The answer is NO. If they(the ocean corp.) tell you different to try and get you enrolled, report them to the VA. I have called the VA's benefits line several times inquiring about this very question. I kept calling to see if by some chance it changed. The bottom line is this, the ocean corporation is not an "institution of higher learning" according to the VA. The degrees they offer are non-college degrees(commercial diving and non-desatructive testing), therefor disqualifying the school for post 9/11 education benefits for veterans. You don't have to take my word for it...here is the number to the VA (888)-442-4551. All you have to ask the representative is this, Can you look up schools that are approved for chapter 33 benefits? they will ask what state the school is in and the name of the school. This is not to say that it is a bad school, but it is not an "institution of higher learning". If you are a veteran and would like to go to the ocean corporat! ion, you can get about half of your tuition paid for under the old gi bill(chapter 30), which isn't near as good as the new one(chapter 33). The tuition for the dive class is 16,000 dollars +boots, wetsuit, and other gear...... and the non-destructive testing class is 14, 000 dollars....Show more
