answers6:For classic authors, I recommend Jane Austen and the Bronte
sisters. Both have great character development, and Austen has a sly
but ladylike sense of humor. The Bronte sisters aren't so humorous,
and they're a bit more cerebral than Austen, but they're amazingly
gifted writers.A 20th-century writer I recommend is Rumer Godden. She,
too, does excellent character development, and the nice thing is that
her books cover a wide range of subjects, in a wide range of settings,
so you don't feel like you're just reading the same book that's been
