is hip hop dancing good exercise?

Lahoma Beadell: Yes, but it's not as good an exercise as breakdancing. Any exercise where you move more, use different muscles, and work harder is (obviously) a better exercise. I don't think you can learn breakdancing in a hip-hop dancing class if they are two different types of dancing, but that's just me.

Stormy Beliard: You won't learn anything about breaking in hip hop dancing. Generally, I dislike hip hop dancing.

Doreatha Kjellsen: well, hip- hop dancing is great excercis because you move so constantly. Depending on who your dance teacher is they might be able to show you how to break dance, which by the way is not the same as break dancing but it does fit in the ctaagorey of hip-hop dancing! hope this helps~*Emma*~...Show more

Shaun Rapkowicz: hip hop is a great excercise that challenges the body and the mind. its not a dance, its a cultural revolution. hip hop and break dancing arent the same thing.

Eulah Hugill: any kinda of dancing is g! ood exercise, especially if your moving quickly and getting your heart rate up.

Blaine Connett: of course it's good exercisei take hip hop class myself along with ballet jazz and moderni get all of my flavor from hip hop and it's one of my favorite classes cause i can just let myself goim noticing that im really good at it too because people are saying "she's so good!" and stuff i get kind of embarassed though because every one's always watching me to see what i dowell anyway, hip hop is a major workout and it gives you lots of flavor in other dances too, you should take a class on it!hip hop isn't the same as break dancingbreak dancing is all skill and ive been to a couple of dancing conventions with hip hop(its really fun)you also need a TON of upper body strength (especailly in freezes)i haven't learned break dancing in a hip hop class but i have fr! om conventions, and a dance spirit magazine, like the basic ar! m roll, baby freeze, and a six stepyou should totally check it out (breakdancing) maybe even take a class on it+it sure as hell is a workout!...Show more

Elli Esaw: Whatever u do, u gotta stay in the gym, and keep the body strong, flexible, and fit.

Keven Woodington: depending if you are in the mood to dance to the music.. yes and no.. but about your break dancing.. no and they teach very little of break dancing during class.. if they did, it would probably be just the basic.. nothing to extreme like spin on your hand or pop it and lock moves that are extremely hard to do..
