answers1:An average author gets paid nothing. There are SO many
authors who can't sell their work that they massively outweigh the
ones who get paid.If we say an "advanced author" is one who has sold
their work, then on average they earn about 1/4 of the national
average wage. (From their writing - most authors also have a day job
or are supported by family / partner)....Show more
answers2:about wat % of authors get paid an average wage
answers3:The average first novel earns $5,000. That means half the
first novels published earn LESS and half earn more.Very few authors
actually earn a living wage from their writing, and yes I mean
"advanced" authors as well as new ones. Those who do earn a decent
income have an agent and consistently write and publish three or four
books per year. I recommend you look at a website called "Show Me The
Money" by author Brenda Hiatt. She collects earnings information from
romance writers and compiles a list that she updates once or twice per
year. I think you'll find the numbers quite enlightening....Show more
answers4:I'd say it really depends on the author. And it's not just
"it might be from x amount of dollars to y amount," it's more like
"which autho are you referring to, and how many books do they have
published, and how successful arer they." Meaning it could range
anywhere from $0 to $1,000,000,000.

answers6:I don't know why people think author means they get rich. An
average author is lucky to get $4000 per book. To give you an example:
If you only earn per year: 10$ for a book, 4$ is for tax, the other 5
to the publishing company/print industry/ agents, and you only get 1$
