Is Dream Theatre the best Progressive Metal Band?

answers3: Dream Theater is Progressive Metal all the way. Don't listen
to the guy above my answer. I like what he's saying and I was with him
but then he said Metallica was one of the first metal bands and i
laughed for hours and hours. and then I read further and I just
laughed more and more and more. His facts are wrong, hes wrong, and he
knows nothing. Metal did NOT start in the 80s it in fact started in
the 60s. He obviously forgot about the bands Deep Purple, Black
Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Nightmare to name a few. And the thing about the
waves, that's not true either, there's a bunch of waves all across
every metal genre. Heavy Metal branched of into several different
categories and those categorizes branched off into several more
categories. Also drugs have never been a problem cause they are
fantastic!!! But then again it does not matter what I say because
everyone will believe him cause he wrote out this long answer.

i like dream theater..but for me opeth are the best progressive metal
band ever.

answers9: I'm actually not a huge DT fan. Respect? yes, they are great
musicians, but the music just doesn't really do it for me. I prefer
things like Opeth, Gojira, Death, Mastodon, Scale the Summit, etc.
